I recently had an opportunity to check out a drilling similar to the one pictured. Many of those drillings that Simpson is bringing in are virtually new condition and tend to be very accurate. The downside is that they tend to be pretty heavy even without the scope (nearly 8#)so decent as a rifle and not quite as decent as a shotgun.
Not great for quail but not bad for turkey or pheasants over dogs

You certainly won't lose money on the deal for that price especially with an unfooled with drilling.

For ammo try to find S&B 173gr (?) Cutted point ammo. I have a couple 7mmR drillings and it tends to shoot better than my handloads, and RST 1oz loads http://www.rstshells.com/
with fiber wads.
