having just posted over on the double rifle building forum ,and talking extensively wiht a few members i just had an interesting thought . If you can build a double rifle on a shotgun action why not a creative singleshot on a single shot action using the barrel methods listed in the ellis book ? i have one 12ga 'long tom' action and one h&r topper 12 ga action I know h&r has the handi rifle but I was thinking a little more custom on classic lines ,would be great practice for building my double slug gun a rifle style butt stock with a rifle comb and cheek piece followed by a classic style beaver tail type fore end as the barrel will be a sleever type it could have a heavier profile and tapered shape caliber thoughts ? hmm 45/70 ,50/90 etc 22 hornet since all but the 50/90 is offered on the handi rifle the action should handle the pressure ,now let the games begin
