I had considered buying a No. 1 in .450/.400 but ended up finding a wonderful Army & Navy Farquharson in .450/.400 3-1/4" NE, so I bought it instead. I haven't shot mine with full nitro loads. I have found it to be sublime with the same nitro-for-black load I use in my Woodward Automatic. That lead bullet load is plenty good for anything in the Lower 48.
