Mine is chambered for the 3.25". That suits me particularly well, as I have two double rifles with the same chamber; one a BPE (my Woodward) and one a NE (Greener Fascile Princeps). One set of dies, and a few hundred rounds of brass serve all three. Interestingly, I have never owned a rifle chambered for the 3" Jeffery round, though I wouldn't hesitate to have one. Certainly that is a good choice for your restoration. BTW, Hornady is into the 3.25" round also. I have a nice trove of their 3.25" brass. Probably you guys have seen it, but here's a link to a thread about my PD Farquharson: Army & Navy CSL Farquharson - .450/.400 3.25" NE It is a brother to the rifle above. We should get together for a shoot. As an aside, these rifles are rather light. You might mimic my N-for-B load discussed in the linked thread. It's a dandy and should take care of any North American game short of the big bears. Thanks for posting. Curl |
