A bit late here in reply to the Gibbs for sale at Rock Island Auction. It is a great pity that this rifle has been "got at" by the gun butchers, I cannot understand why anyone would actually pay to have a nice rifle like this ruined, total lack of taste I suppose, it could however still be returned to it's former glory by un doing all of the butchery, the forend looks absolutely hideous! Huvious my friend, your thoughts are exactly the same as mine. I notice the screws in the Selous plates(one of only two Ha, Ha) are tightened to their original "timed" position so at least they got that bit right!I can only hope it went to a good home.
