Thanks for the comments gents. I simply bought the rifle... I didn't make it...LOL To me, there is no more perfect light rifle than a 303 falling block. One thing I noticed is that it has a Jeffery rear sight. Jeffery made some of their express sights with the standing sight with a wide "U" shaped notch for use with the Lyman peep which were often fit to Jeffery Farquharsons - even 450/400s. The standing "U" has little overhangs where the first folding leaf rests against it. This leaf folds up rearward while the other two fold up forward. This is well explained in Winfer's Jeffery and Trade Farquharson book. There are also two filled holes in the wood behind the top tang so clearly there once was a peep fitted to he rifle. |
