It achieves good velocity without violent recoil. And you can run everything through it from Woodleigh solids to gas checked lead, to paper-patched. It is easy to load for and works well with just about anything one can stuff into it. Additionally, you can fire-form brass from .300H&H. It is a fantastic round.

Grenadier, I agree the 400 H&H is a fine round but as far as I am informed it uses bullets with .411 diameter unlike the 450/400 which uses standardly the .410 bullets.
