I am beginning to feel that Collecting Drillings is an addiction..
I added a Hammer gun to collection. It is marked Gust:Meffert but after doing a bit of searching I am finding information on all kinds of Mefferts but no Gust:Meffert. Also most of the hammer guns I am finding have a "long tail" on the locks going well down the wrist where this one is about half the length others are. I have included some pictures and would appreciate any information folks could offer.. it is a 16 ga. X 16ga X 9.3/72R. The shotgun chambers are 2 1/2" with Improved Modified choke and Full+, marked Nitro. I have not slugged the barrel yet to check the bore diameter but maybe this weekend, it is marked 8.8 and the 9.3X72R rounds seem to drop in just fine so my assumption is that the seller was correct on the rifle caliber as he included 9 boxes of ammo with the gun.
