Gentlemen, I am awaiting delivery on a virtually new example of Remington's smallest Rolling Block- the Model 4 in .32 Rimfire (chambered for both short and long .32 RF) and would like to know your thoughts, experiences etc. on the rifle and the cartridge. My example is reported to be the last incarnation made in the early 1930s with a receiver mounted screw dismount in lieu of a lever. Of course the ammunition is difficult to locate, but I had acquired a good supply many years ago and the urge to find a rifle for the ammunition has been inescapable. I found no solace in explaining the situation to my wife (she cannot imagine why one would buy ammunition for a rifle I did not have and then out of curiosity buy a rifle for the ammunition!) I figured I might find all of you a bit more understanding. Thanks in advance, Kindest regards... |
