The .458 is a good choice if for no other reason than it thinks it's a varmint rifle for the groups it usually shoots! Several in my area here love(loved) the number 1 in .458, even the late great Elmer Keith! He even had a personalized Idaho license plate for "458"! His "Gun Notes" books (two additions) speak of the .458 #1 several times with high praise. My good shooting buddy killed a bull bison with his #1 in .458........

With that said I am after the .405 Winchester in the #1 and would pick it as my choice! It is rich with nostalgia and rumor has it a good if not great shooter as well.............

Want to try those 400 grain .411" Woodleighs I have read others using........
