That's my thought, AFRO408 - cross patch for paper and possibly short slugs - for perhaps .50 cal. rifle, but it's difficult to guess at the bullet diameter. The cross paper patch fits a like recession on the top of the short starter, a ring then gently holds the patch down and allows it to feed(recessed) with the bullet into the false muzzle, then gets shoved own the tube onto the powder charge. I have never heard of a cross-cloth patch - ever. It's possible somewhere in Europe - maybe. |
