Re: Sambar with a drilling

Gents,

Waidmannsheil (pronounced Vide-mons-heil) is a hunters salute (German), which if I'm not mistaken can be used as a greeting as well, though I haven't used it as such. It is used often enough that the GGCA (German Gun Collectors Association) uses the salute as the name of their newsletter. Waidmannsdank is the acknowledgement or "thank you" (dank). I really appreciate the Europeans sticking to their tradition of paying homage to their fallen prey; to me it adds addition depth and class to the experience of the hunt. It sure beats the f'd up gomerish fist pumping and rather crass commentary that we see and hear all too often on TV. I can appreciate being happy about taking one's quarry but good grief, most critters even DG are generally just minding their own business when we take them.

Dr. Deer,

Thank you for posting the great picture and congratulations on your successful hunt with your drilling. The 7X65R is sure a nice cartridge. Nice touch with the placement of the branches.

Waidmannsheil!
