A neat experiment would be to get some .323 8mm bullets and try sizing them down to .315 dead on groove depth and see how they do.

I still don't think it is GROOVE depth that is the bugbear, but first and foremost, lousy stocking up and maybe some other internal barrel dimensions as additive.
