Thanks to all for the kind words, this project has been a true pleasure and Mike has been a wonderful man to work with, great attitude, good choices and beyond patient! I'll answer a few questions and post a couple more pix. The rifle weighs 8 lb. 13 oz scoped and 7 lb. 9 oz without. 25" cut-rifled barrel in .30-06. For any of you that might get Gunmaker, American Custom Gunmakers Guild Journal there will be a two part photo essay of this rifle in progress in upcoming Fall and Winter issues. The 180 grain loads were custom ammo that Mike supplied and the 165 grain, Nosler Factory Accubond. Each group is centered above point of aim, the 180s 3 1/2" high and the 165s about 6" high. Very pleasing! (The test firing was at a friend's ranch in the Gallatin River Valley, and yes those are peafowl about 35 yards out!) |
