Ok, lots of ideas. However, I'm also considering rechambering a #1 for either .470 NE or .577 NE. I figure the ground squirrels and coyotes here near Las Vegas are a tough breed so I really want the .577. Question is, how much work to rechamber to the much larger caliber, and what #1 action would you start with - rimmed cartridge- 45-70, or does it really matter? I know a rebarrel is needed too, so that has to be figured in, along with sights, rib, hospital money for broken shoulder, etc. I've owned a 458 Lott in #1, but, as I said above, the coyotes here are V. mean. |
