Short answer: No. Long answer: I've seen 2300 fps with a 300gr for about 3800 ft/lbs. Your ruger is very strong and can take +P loads. I suspect you can get another 50 to 100fps. The 450/400 can push a 400Gr bullet to 2150fps for about 4100 ft/lbs. That can be acheved with the 45/70. I had a #1 light sporter (7.0 lbs) in 45/70 and loaded a 405gr to 2150fps. The recoil was more than I could bear. |
