I bought my Ruger No#1 in 303 British home today and had a good look at it. The workmanship is quite good. The lever is not loose when it is open like my 45-70. A beautiful light rifle. There in lies the problem, my rifle is blued and the supplied scope rings are High rings in stainless steel. I tried them on the rifle and the 3.5-10 weaver is so high it is hard to look through and they look terrible. Sent and email off to Ruger. I then loaded up a dummy round with 180 lightly seated Sierra in the case and pushed it into the chamber. Max Overall loaded length to the lands is 3.157 thou. There is a lot of bullet sticking out of the case with the projectile seated about 2/3rds of they way down the neck. This will not be a problem in a single shot like the ruger. Can't wait to shoot it.
