General, about 4 years ago I decided I would like a single shot, started reading about actions, there is a fairly old book by a chap whose name I cannot remember (the book is in my London flat) and it is a sort of "bible" about single actions. Then I started researching more about these actions and the Martini Hagn kept coming up as the strongest ever made. Who make it Martin and Hagn, and Mr Hughes had written an article about it, see http://www.martiniandhagngunmakers.com/technicalinfo.htm More phone calls and Mr D Hughes name came up a lot with regard to single shots, check Amazon, I think Steve has published 3 or 4 books, I bought them and liked what I saw. I then called three independant gun critics (Steve didnīt know that till now. All to a man said Steve was the chap to do a single shot but I WOULD HAVE TO BE PATIENT ! Cut a long story short I combined a business trip in Toronto to a visit to Steve in Livingstone, Montana, a very good weekend. And thats that, buy the books, see what you think, what I was surprised at was the blank Steve recommended, I was frankly underwhelmed but he was spot on. Also I know he has had to adjust the inletting on two customers Luciano Bosisīs and you donīt let someone do that unless you have supreme trust in them. Last of all I like him ! best Mike |
