A friend gave me a head's up on a 32 Winchester caliber single shot rifle manufactured by Winchester that is on private sale near Chicago. I haven't seen the rifle yet, but my friend bought another gun from the seller, and he said that it was in nice shape. I am guessing that it would be an 1885 Low Wall style rifle as it is a Winchester. I hope to have a look at it next week after fixing an appointment with the seller. From what I know, this caliber was a 30-30 class round which did not do well, though a number of ammo retailers have ammo available. Presuming that I am offered a good price, would this be a good rifle to buy? Is there anything that I should look out for? Thanks for all suggestions / advice in advance, and good hunting! |
