Hi guys, the barrel is a walther, its 0.985" at the muzzle and 1.25" at the breech. The rifle weighs 10lbs 70z without the reducers, and its 12lb 7oz with them in. I have yet to shoot anything with it yet though I have taken it out for a few little trips. As for recoil, my .577 is very mild, and its probably no worse than your slightly lighter double with 650 grain bullets.
