Hi Hoser, Scope the D.R. with a good quality scope, I like the S&B 1.1-4x24 with a FD7 reticle in the Recknagel Q.D. pivot mounts, then choose 1 Barrel / Trigger that you are most happy with and sight it in as you would a normal single barrel rifle. Have a look at the ballistics, the 9.3x74R is no slouch and if your 2" high @ 100 nothing is safe out to 300 yards but use good quality projectiles. Then if you want to use open sights, 30 seconds later your done. As good as the Ruger No.1 is, anything that it can do the Chapuis can do as well if not better. One rifle to carry, less freight to Africa or where-ever your hunting and your shooting a new version of the "Old World" hunter. Cheers, Jeff Gray ![]() |
