In the late 1880s, Oberhammer worked at Miller(Josef?) & Valentin Greiß in München working on his advances for drillings. As early as 1877, Miller & Greiß had purchased Fredrich Xavier(?) Baader’s Baader & Sohne giving them a leg up in being a supplier of firearms to the Bavarian Royal Court. Depending on the proofmarks, Oberhammer possibly sourced the components from Sempert & Kreighoff or from Heym, original patentee of the hammerless drilling on May 24, 1891, considering the reinforced frame. Or he may have sourced components from Miller & Val. Greiß who then in turn may have sourced the craftsmen in Suhl. Kind Regards, Raimey rse |
