Why don't you call Ruger and ask them the bore dimensions of their .450/.400? If I recall correctly they made it .410" but I'm not sure. Let me recommend a bullet I am using in my .450/.400 3.25". It's a 265 grain cast bullet with gas check. Cheap as dirt and a tackdriver in my Woodward double. http://www.midwayusa.com/viewProduct/?productNumber=885283 To load it down you could probably use 5744 (which I have not used). I am loading it using standard Nitro-for-Black techniques with Varget powder and a couple of foam wads. I am duplicating Kynoch ballistics for the .450/.400 3.25" NfB load - 1850 fps. http://www.new-kynoch.apt-sites.com/450-400%203%BCin%20NfB.htm You also have the choice of Hornady's 300 grain interlock RN bullet. Your Ruger will be a great choice with this round. Curl |
