I've finally joined the ranks of combination owners, with a couple of sets of barrels for my Tikka with a set of 12 g / 7x65R barrels and a set of 12 g /.223 barrels. Still need to get them finally fitted by a gunsmith.

The Tikka is a Tikka 512SD.

I also received a set of .30-06 double rifle barrels.

I have at the moment only ONE set of Valmet/Tikka mounts. These will probably go on the .30-06 barrels. As while they are supposed to be QD, they are hardly QD with the screw off feature.

Now gentlemen, what do you suggest as a mounting system for a scope on the two combination sets of barrels.

I will be using the .223 set a lot at home, and really need a good 6x or 8x scope for it. But need quick access to the open "sights" for the shotgun.

Any suggestions?

Hinged mounts?

QD mounts which might fit the Valmet/Tikka?

Similar for the 7x65R set with 12g. I could probably handle this with open sights if needed.
