I remember reading either an article or forum comment a long time ago from someone who used to work for Dakota which listed the faults of the action and trigger of the Model 10. If I can find it, I'll summarise or post a link. Essentially, I believe that the Hagn to be the best designed and best of all the falling blocks. I don't know if Searcy buys them for his rifles, but I heard a rumour that Holland and Holland will soon offer a single shot on this action and Hartmann and Weiss did/do (Hagn used to work for H&W I believe).

As to being fancy - of course they can be. However, if you buy the action, you can build as plain or fancy as you like. Its the quality of the machining that counts in my book and the Hagn is superb. Don't forget Hagn prices are in CAD too!
