Daryl_S Agreed, the 3.25 case isn't all that practical. The 45-90 case volume is probably within 1-2% of the 458wm so it is closer to being a direct "rimmed 458". I looked at the 2.8" case (more of a 458 Lott) but ended up choosing the 2.6" due to the cheaper brass and out of historical context. I've been working on a Borchardt project and the 45-100 was the "big cartridge of the day" for that rifle. Also, with the 2.6" case I don't need to compress the powder to get 458wm ballistics. |
