If I had to give all but one up, the survivor would be my common mid 1960's 12ga/30-06 with the 22 mag insert in the right barrel. I had the beavertail forend trimmed to a sturdy splinter, and the gun handles much better. It has a 6X scope in claws with a #4 reticule. Ammo is never a problem, and it will handle most hunting situations. It is a viable 250 yard big game gun with the set trigger. I've had no extraction problems with the rimless case, and a 12ga is capable of shooting a wide variety of ammo, both shot and slug. I wouldn't turn down a 20ga/9,3X74R... |
