When my son was six I let him start hunting with a 410 and when they had the youth hunts for deer I just switch out with slugs. He took three does with it before he went to a bigger gun and while his shots were under 50yds. none of the deer went past 100yds. I actually tried the m6 for him but the recoil was a lot greater or seemed to be than a polkstock and he got afraid of it. Anyhow, I wouldn't mind having a couple of slugs with the shot shells in my kit.
