I sent Herr Glatz an email asking what he means by "Damast", whether he is referring to a normal fluid steel barrel with a finish resembling damascas steel (not uncommon in the early days of fluid steel shot barrels), or whether he is really referring to a barrel manufactured by welding strips of steel together, and if the latter, how he manages to create a barrel capable of containing the pressures generated by modern high performance cartridges. I will report on any answer I may receive. |
