Hi peter and other friends well a shotgun with slug and shot will cover the most survival situations unless the range becomes more than 70-80 meters. once i had a tikka m70 in 12 ga/222 remington , that combi was so accurate that made many varmint rifles hidding of shame !!! one day when i was on the shooting range with my son . there was a plnty of ½ broken claybirds on the other side of a vally laying on the ground distance was mere 300 yards away when i hit many of them with my combo's 222 rem barrel shooting federal 55 gr fmjbt, my son took that gun from me and now it is his gun!!!! this gun was a very good survival gun 'but rather heavy with mount and scope about 4 kilo+ . i had very nice buckshot pattern at 30 meters and good acuraccy with brenneke and slugger at 50 meters distance too. cheers Daniel |
