Here are a couple of photos of a Trapdoor Springfield M1873 that I built several years ago. Please note the hammer: it shows what can be done with a military hammer after re-shaping. The wood is Juglans regia that I picked up in Pakistan in 1974 and hoarded ever since. I was looking for a special project and selected a Trapdoor Springfield??????? Oh well, it seemed like a good idea at the time.
