Hi Gunbug The Tikka M07 is a well made firearm with one fatal flaw... the ultra thin 'floating' rifle barrel heats up fast and walks with every shot. The muzzle brake doesn't help either. My father bought a 12g/.222 Rem version new in the 1970's and I spent some time trying to get it to print consistently on target. Never could get it to group, just a vertical string as the barrel rapidly heated up. VERY frustrating... http://s15.photobucket.com/albums/a396/TilleyMan/?action=view¤t=TikkaM77-M07.jpg He DID get one big pig with the M07, poleaxed at 50 yards by a 50gr Norma .222 factory load behind the shoulder. These are loaded with a bullet designed for small deer like the Roe, and were quite effective if you picked the shot carefully. We also used 12g rifled slugs in it on the pigs, which I much prefered. ![]() We ended up selling it, and buying a new BSA Monarch .243... |
