Gentlemens: This rifle is to be an International Rules Creedmoor rifle, basically a black powder cartridge rifle weighing 13 pounds for competition at 800, 900 and 1K yards. The action is Steve Earle's reproduction of the Frank Wesson #1 Long Range action that has been reshaped to what is hoped to be a more elegant look. The barrel is a Green Mountain .45 caliber with a 1 in 16" twist and is 34" long. The stock is of American black walnut with skeleton butt plate and grip cap of damascus steel. The sights will be the Distant Thunder rear tang sight and globe front sight. The rifle was specifically built for the WCA Creedmoor match in Lodi, Wisconsin this September and was supposed to be done six months ago. Imagine that. ![]() In any event, it nears completion. The action is at the engraver's and all that remains upon its return is to assemble all the pieces and time and blue the screws. Hopefully this will all be done in time for the Lodi match... ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Glenn |
