You could possibly have the barrel turned a bit, and a few ounces of wood shaved off here and there, but the fact remains that the Ruger action is substantial, the receiver large, and in order to fit a two piece stock to the receiver beefy metal tabs must be part of the picture. You are not going to be able to trim down this gun the same way you would a bolt action, and turning a barrel and shaving wood is not going to be cheap. I have and shoot the same gun/calibre as you do, and with the 2x7 Burris I have on mine, I'm coming in at eight pounds twelve ounces. I don't think you're doing that badly. |
