I don't know the problem. It very well could be that simple. I was over today and the stock is off of it.

My guess is the Drilling is from the '20s. It was involved in a House fire about 10 years ago. The gun was given to a 'smith to redo and he is the guy that lost the part. It has been re blued (not very well) and now can't even shoot.

It's a real shame as it was really nice, a 16x16x7mm.
