Hi All ! I've run into either an Austrian or German Double Hammered Drilling that needs some work but has potential. The Drilling is purported to have been made around 1920. The top ( 2 ) S X S barrels are 16 gauge X 2.5 ''. The lower rifle barrel according to the Cerro Metal chamber casting indicates out @ 11.2 X 55 m.m. long up to the rifling. From researching many of the Nitro Express Forums I've seen mention of 10.75 x 68 m.m.; 11.2 X 72 m.m. ; & 11.2 X 60 m.m. ...BUT ''NO ? '' Mention (@ least that I've seen) of a 11.2 X 55 m.m.caliber. Can anyone enlighten me to as whether or not this 11.2 X 55 caliber existed,or can there be a problem with the casting ? Is ammo commercially available for an 11.2 X 55 m.m. caliber ? Also what would be the high end & low end Dollar - Wise on a Drilling in this caliber combination ? It is basically devoid of any engraving . Thanks; Mike |
