If You are talking abaout a Ruger No.1 I can recommend a EAW swing mount that is speciallly designed for Ruger rifles. I have it on my Ruger Magnum but it should also work for No.1 rifles. There is only the front base needed to be put on the quarter rib, the rear part engages in the original Ruger rib. It holds zero very well but I wish it would be a little bit lower, I like the scope mounted as low as possible.
The most stylish but also the most expensive type of scope mount is still the Suhler claw mount, but only real master gunsmiths are capable of mastering this difficult precision work. And that means a premium bill !
