With the vast pool of knowledge on this forum I am hoping to get some help. I am having a falling block single shot rifle built in 300 mag. The rear sight block will be long, i.e. quarter rib where I come from. I want to use a detachable scope but I don't want to alter the look of the sight rib any more than I have to. I am not interested in round buttons extending along the sides of the sight rib. Neither do I want protrusions or hooks sticking up when the scope is removed. I don't care if it looks a little odd when the scope is mounted but I want it to be as invisible as can be when the scope is removed. I am willing to pay for sturdy, high quality, mounts and rings. Any recommendations for a good detachable scope mounting system that can do a good job of this?
