I started smoking Cuban cigars many years ago when I was in Moscow - they were cheap there especially if you bought them in the ruble shops. When I returned to India and then went to Singapore, I nearly died not from smoking but from the price tags on my favourite Cohibas. For a while I switched to some of the higher grade Henri Wintermans and then gave smoking up altogether. As I live in the USA now, Coihibas are an impossibility unless I visit Canada and pick one up. A good combination is with a fine cognac after dinner. Somehow, I don't enjoy cigars with Scotch, but I am a Sassnach who prefers cheap Scotch like Cutty Sark and Irish whiskies like Bushmills to some of the premium stuff that comes out of Scotland.
