I certainly understand how some do not like the Isle of Islay scotches, but to me they are the best. Lagavulin is the smokiest of all of them in my opinion. Laphroig next. MacCallum is middle of the road to me. Its a good thing our tastes are diverse or the costs would be worst than the $100 per bottle we need to cough up.
Mike - I agree, Cohiba, a bit too strong for me as well.
I stopped drinking the ports as I drank them like fruit juice...certainly enjoyable. In fact the most memorable cigar and port I had was in the London athletic club, where the waiter elegantly lit the cigar and served it with the port....good times.
