I think I will look for a Garmin Rino 750. Some of the online info has improved in the meantime. I note there are some other Garmin models quite similar, but do not understand often what exactly is different and all the variations. Happy for anyone to point why a different model might be better. Perhaps the UHF aerial, fixed versus the option of a longer aerial is a key difference and very relevant issue for Australia? Don't know. Will soon purchase a device, as I do need to play with it and use it a bit before using it in an outback location. One annoying thing about the internet, is shops now rarely have first hand knowledge of products and can one on one explain a product. Because so much is sold with sales blurb on the internet instead competitive prices. And rarely stock any product on hand except very common ones. |
