I use the standard 8x30 Ultravids, BUT I also use 10x40 Zeiss for long range glassing (new 10x30 will out do my old 10x40s).
For a one pair of bino's I consider the Leica Ultravid HD or equivalent in Zeiss in 10x30 the ultimate compromise in light weight.
