Gentlemen, I have a nice Ithica 12 ga. double with 30 inch tubes (steel not damascus) choked at .690 (full) each. It is as tight as the day it was made. I would love to turn it into a round ball double rifle but am somewhat confused ( which is my normal state being married and all.) What do you recomend as to ball size, plastic cup brand/type, and starting load for 777 bp sub. or pyrodex? I do not cast so would have to buy the balls. I would use it for boar, bear, and moose out to max. of 100yds or so, but mostly to about 50 yds. I would like to have the balls of wheel weight with possibly a little more hardening. Should I use a roll or star crimp? If there is any other info you think I should know then please include it. I have been reading these posts and yet I remain confused. I am also open to using smokeless powder. Norman |
