Short Stoeger update, I was able to get away to the range for a short time today, only 1/2 hour to give the Stoeger a quick try. The chokes were removed to see what the cylinder bores would do.The 3" loads shot low, about 1-1/2 feet at 25 yards. Since I only had a bead to sight with it took some luck and sighting high on a mark I made above the target.I found the right barrel shot on target with 2 inch. groups but the left barrel shot 1 foot low to the left giving 2-2 1/2 inch groups. The 2 3/4's gave much better groups, shooting about 8in. low but grouping both barrels on but slightly to the left of target.Four rounds into four inches,2 right and 2 left. I am going to try some make-shift sights to attach to the barrels,I may be able to shave an inch or two off that group if I can actually see the target. Thanks for the info Daryl S Here are the slugs I am using,I had to open one of the 3" cases...That hurt! Oscar ![]() |
