Hello to all, I'm considering one of these for deer driving this Fall. http://www.remington.com/products/firearms/shotguns/SPR_models/SPR220_side-by-side_specs.asp This model:12 3" 28" Blue Hardwood Double Cyl/Cyl 43 3/4" 7 89540 $392 . I chose this for its double trigger and 3" chambers. I will chop the barrels down to 20-22" myself and use Brenneke slugs, either 3" or 2 3/4". About 5 years ago I was lucky to catch Gander Mt. at a weak moment and they had cases for sell (200 per case in 5 round boxes at 1.50 per box )I still have 600 rds. of 2 3/4" and 800 of the 3". I know the regulation of the 2 barrels is a big "if" but either way it will be a decent beater. The question is do you fellows think this shotgun will hold up to some abuse or should I pass on and look for something else? I'm not looking for pretty, first time out here in the PA. woods in a winter drive and this thing will look like trash by the end of the day. Opinions please, Thanks to all. Add on to last post, A buddy just told me about this shotgun:http://www.stoegerindustries.com/firearms/coach.tpl It's a few dollars more but is already short barreled,3" and with choke tubes. What do you think between the two, which is more reliable, stronger ??? |
