Iowa deer season started yesterday. It was a balmy -12 degrees Fahrenheit with a light breeze making the windchill around -20 degrees. Spent all day out without having a deer in range. Went back out this morning. It was snowing and an improved temp of 0 degrees. Got myself a nice doe with one roundball loaded as described above. At 40 yards the ball went in through the left shoulder, raked the top of the heart, and exited the front of the rib cage on the right side. She turned, took 3 steps and fell over. Thanks to all who have posted roundball loading information in the past. It has been very helpful. I will post pictures when I get home tonight. |
