Matthew, IMHO wheel weights migh be to hard for these slugs. Everyone I know who casts them including me uses pure lead, some put in a couple of sticks of 50/50 solder to harden it a little. If you use wheel weights just keep an eye on the pressure signs. Let me know how they go.
