Matthew, Under the definition of the BGRC rules, rifled slugs are not permitted. It must be a bore riding projectile, Fosbury Style which weigh over 700 grains, or a round ball. I was talking to Graeme Wright at the shoot and it must be in the spirit of the game. Have a look at some of the other posts here, Expecially Daryl S as he offers very good advice re ball loads. There are loads listed in Graeme Wrights book "Shooting the English Double Rifle" and they are a really good starting point. I would like to pick up one of those ultra slug guns as it is a bit heavier than my light weight one. Good luck with it and let me know how it goes. Good to meet you at the shoot. Cheers Wayne |
