Re: H&R slug loading

Matthew, I do nor know what you are going to use it for (hunting, competition etc) but I have been using one now foe about 12 months. I have used Daryl's recipe and it works, but not as accurate as I wanted. I use a 720grn fosbury slug which I cast in a Cast Bullet Engineering mould (CBE Sydney). I get a suitable wad and cut the petals off, using new unfird primed case I then load using ADI AP70 the mofified wad then seat the slug and use a roll crimper in a drill press. Out of my H&R it will group inside 2" at 50 metres with ease. The recoil is no bad but you really have to hang onto the foreaend as it will jump out of your front hand.

I have not used normal rifled slugs with it. If the ball gives you the accuracy you want, it will be the easy and cheapest way to go.

Cheers Wayne
