Re: Some Info on ball mould size in 12 & 8 Bore ?

I think you are on the right track. I'd try Unique and/or Blue Dot though. The round balls weigh a bit less, but Unique loads for the slightly heavier Fosbery Slugs are well published. A good place to start. Some lube would be good, might have to add some tin to keep the leading down too? If you have a .750 mould and a .743 groove diameter, why not make (have made) a simple sizer or two?

What are you using for a gas seal? Sherman Bell uses a nitro card with thick cork. We can't even get the thick cork here, but I think you could order directly from http://www.siarm.com/index.php

Thanks CC.

My feltwads were polystyrene cut out from appleboxes, nitro wads were milkcartons + undersized balls = a reciepe for a real huff but no puff load..:LOL

Thanks for the link. I believe I will start out right this time. I must order a Jeff Tanner mold in .742/.743 and let the barrel choke the ball down to .735". as it being pushed toward the muzzle.

It appears that some of these guns are an enigma to make ém work. I will also try what Tinker advised, to wrap the .735"ball like a frontstuffer ball. I have determined that this gun must get to work, because it had been working before(I am sure of).
I will keep this thread alive as I get to evolve with loads for this gun.
